Land development growth in our Township is supported and encouraged. Our Planning department uses a review and approval process called Site Plan Control to lessen the impact of development and improve the function, design and appearance of proposed developments.
Our Planning department makes sure your proposal conforms with our official plan and zoning by-law. A formal agreement must be created between you, the property owner, and the Township before any development takes place. When the agreement is finalized, it is registered on the title of the property and legally enforced for current and subsequent owners.
To save time with your site plan control application, our staff can process the application without you appearing before Council. This delegated authority is described in By-law 14-017. If you want Council to review your application, please contact us.
The site plan control process can take two months or more to complete.
