The Official Plan:
- helps decide where roads, water mains, sewers, landfill sites, parks and other services will be built;
- provides a framework for establishing the size of lots and height of buildings; and
- provides a way to evaluate and settle conflicting land uses while meeting local, regional and provincial interests.
If you want to use your property or develop it in a way that conflicts with the Official Plan, you need to apply for an Official Plan Amendment.
