Some roads in the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands are not municipally owned or maintained. To offer support, we assist eligible private road associations with capital improvements and maintenance costs through the Private Road Grant Program.
Road Associations are required to determine which type of grant to pursue depending on the type of work they want to accomplish.
Please read each section carefully and choose the grant that best suits your needs; noting that conditions, deadlines, and reporting requirements differ for each stream.

The objective of this program is to improve access for emergency vehicles on existing private roads. Please read the following to ensure you have the required information to complete the application form.
Funding assistance is not retroactive and applies only to applications received for work completed in the year for which it is intended. Due date for the application is June 7, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. Late applications will not be accepted. Next Steps

Private Road Grant – Maintenance Activities |
This private road grant is intended to assist eligible private road associations with operating and maintenance costs. Expenses may include, but are not limited to, roadside brushing, grading, snow removal, dust control. Please read the following to ensure you have the required information to complete the application form.
Due date for the application is October 31 each year. Funds will be awarded the following spring for successful applicants. Late applications will not be accepted. |
