Requests for reduced speed limits are received and reviewed by our Operations and Infrastructure department in consultation with the Ontario Provincial Police, Leeds Detachment.
Under the Highway Traffic Act, the current speed limit is 50 kilometres per hour by default in built up areas, and 80 kilometres per hour elsewhere.
To request a reduction in speed limit, please:
- review the Municipal Speed Limit Policy
- complete the Speed Limit Reduction Request form
- upload a signed petition which include a majority of street/road residents (download petition template).
