An Outdoor Solid Fuel Combustion Appliance is a solid fuel burning appliance, which is used for the space heating of buildings, the heating of water or other purposes, and which is located in a separate building or on the exterior of the building which it services.
All outdoor solid fuel combustion appliances must meet the requirements of By-law 90-01 and require:
- a building permit
- a detailed plot plan showing where on the property it will be placed
If you do not meet the requirements, an amendment to By-law 90-01 is required prior to installation. Council approval is not guaranteed. Contact us for next steps.
