    Nominations Open | 2026 Municipal Election

    Nominations are now open for the 2026 Municipal Election.

    Thinking about stepping up and making a difference in your community?  Now’s your chance.

    Candidate packages are available for download on the Elections page of our website and at the Administration Office, 1233 Prince Street, Lansdowne.  Nomination period is open until 2:00 p.m. on August 21, 2026.  

    Complete your nomination documents and contact the Clerk at 613-659-2415 or clerk@townshipleeds.on.ca to arrange for a 30-minute appointment to drop off your documents.

    Now that the frost has left the ground, construction is moving along with the installation of the safety surface.

    We are asking everyone to respect the signage and fencing that advise against entering the construction area.

    Once the work is done and the final certification inspection is completed, we will announce a gathering and celebration with a grand opening for the community.

    Leeds Grenville Public Notice | Pesticide Use

    The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville intends to utilize Wagar and Corput Weed 
    Control Inc. to control Wild Parsnip and noxious weeds along the following rural 
    roadsides: 

    • Select sections on County Roads 2, 3, 4, 5, 27, 30, 32, 33, 34, 35, 37, 40, 42, 46 and 47.
    • Selected Township Roads in the municipalities of Athens, Augusta, Edwardsburgh/Cardinal, Elizabethtown-Kitley, Front of Yonge, Leeds and Thousand Islands, Merrickville- Wolford and North Grenville.
    • All County guide rails, except for those in Rideau Lakes.

    Emergency Preparedness (EP) Week is a national awareness initiative and an opportunity for you to take action to ensure you're prepared to protect yourself, your household and your community during an emergency.

  • Jerry Park Update

    Over the coming weeks, there will be extensive work in the park, including the completion of the playground area and the installation of an accessible pathway. Please respect the safety fencing and stay out of the work zones. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to keep everyone safe.

  • Boat Wrap Disposal

    Beginning April 17, 2026, Boat Wrap bins are available at the Lansdowne Waste Disposal Site, Peck’s Marina and Clarks Marina. Bins will be removed at the end of May 2026.

    Please note, this is the last year for free disposal. Effective January 2027, boat wrap will be considered waste and not a recyclable material. Residents and property owners in the Township may dispose of their boat wrap by purchasing a large item ticket or an appropriate load ticket, depending on the size of the boat wrap being discarded. Tickets can be purchased at the Administration office in Lansdowne.

    Beginning in April 2027, boat wrap will only be accepted at the Lansdowne waste site.

  • Public Notice | Notice of Study Commencement

    The Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands (TLTI) has initiated Class Environmental Assessments (Class EAs) to determine the preferred approach for expanding the rated capacity of the Lansdowne 
    Sewage Treatment System (STS) and the Railway Sewage Pumping Station (SPS) to effectively collect and treat wastewater generated from existing and projected future development.

  • Cataraqui Conservation Flood Watch Update | April 16

    Watershed Conditions Statement - Water Safety Extended for Inland Lakes & Streams

    Kingston – Cataraqui Conservation has extended its Watershed Conditions Statement – Water Safety today to advise residents and visitors about high flows on area watercourses.

    Weather Situation:
    Approximately 15 to 50 mm of rain has fallen over the period of April 12 through April 15, 2026.
    There is additional rainfall in the forecast for the period of April 16 through April 18, before drier conditions are expected to begin. Environment Canada special weather statements suggest that rainfall amounts will be highly variable across the region.

    Take notice that the Council of the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands will hold a public meeting on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 6:00 pm. The meeting will be to consider the following application for amendment:

    Zoning By-law Amendment Application: D14-2026-004 – 161 Ivy Lea Road and 164 Ivy Lea Road
