Notice of Study Commencement | Notice issued April 21, 2026.

The Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands (TLTI) has initiated Class Environmental Assessments (Class EAs) to determine the preferred approach for expanding the rated capacity of the Lansdowne Sewage Treatment System (STS) and the Railway Sewage Pumping Station (SPS) to effectively collect and treat wastewater generated from existing and projected future development.

Two (2) Public Information Centres (PICs) are proposed during the study. PIC No. 1 is intended to be undertaken during Fall 2026, prior to finalizing the preferred solution. In the meantime, the study team will be reviewing and compiling background information (Phase 1 of study) and identifying alternative solutions to meet system requirements. Updates will be provided throughout the study on TLTI’s website.

For more information view the Study of Commencement Notice.
